You should also consider either turning your thermostat off entirely, or setting it to maintain a lower temperature, during the night. You’re not awake to benefit from heating, so why waste the energy running the system at 3am?

This is best done before winter actually sets in, but preventive maintenance is a massive benefit even if it’s scheduled later.
